Protecting Public Access
The Rockfield facility has operated in harmony with the local environment and wildlife for over a century. This will continue under a comprehensive project that guarantees lasting public access to the San Joaquin River and parkway amenities for future generations.
Protecting the Parkway

The CEMEX Rockfield Modification Project includes options for potential easements that could enhance, expand, and interconnect the current trail network.

Existing river setbacks will remain unchanged, ensuring continued protection of the wildlife corridor.

As the operational footprint is reduced, hundreds of acres of land will be restored and preserved to open space for the benefit of the local habitat and wildlife.

Areas retired from production will be reseeded with native grasses and forbs, enhancing food sources and habitat for indigenous wildlife.

Existing nest boxes along the river will be maintained for local songbirds, supporting the successful fledging of over 100 birds annually.
