CEMEX Rockfield Modification Project
Cemex has announced a project to invest in the region’s economy and job market by spending over $50 million over 5 years to:
- Modernize the Fresno area aggregates plant and ready-mix operation.
- Safeguard over 200 existing direct and indirect jobs and create hundreds more.
- Protect the economy and public services by doubling the quarry’s existing tax revenue contribution and creating millions of dollars in labor income for the local community.
- Reduce the existing operational footprint and access new sources of aggregates by mining to greater depths.
- Implement a reclamation plan that converts land previously mined into permanent open space to protect local habitat and wildlife for future generations.
- Protect an affordable supply of locally sourced aggregates, which is vital for more affordable housing, economic development, and public infrastructure.
- Promote responsible mining practices and environmental sustainability.
For more than 100 years, the Rockfield Quarry has supported the demand for locally sourced aggregates, jobs, and economic growth. Watch this video to learn about a project that will sustain operations for generations to come.
